Pacer P-58-0714-11 Shaft Seal Assembly, 3/4 in Shaft, Buna-N

The Pacer P-58-0714-11 is a mechanical shaft seal assembly for a 3/4 in pump shaft, built with Buna-N elastomers, 316 stainless steel, and carbon and ceramic faces. It is the seal specified in Pacer parts lists for Buna-N S Series and G Series pumps.

The seal faces ride on a thin film of pumped liquid, so running a pump dry destroys them quickly. Replace the seal when you see dripping at the shaft, after any dry-run event, or whenever the pump is opened for service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I know the seal has failed?
Liquid dripping from the weep area behind the pump or a damp bracket usually means the seal faces are worn.
Q: Why are there other versions of this seal?
Pacer offers the same seal in EPDM, Viton, and Hastelloy to match the liquid.
Q: Do I need special tools to install it?
No, but keep the faces clean and do not scratch them. Fit it as the pump manual describes.
Q: Should I replace anything else?
Inspect the impeller, O-rings, and shaft sleeve whenever you open the pump.
